Chelsea enter into talks for Estêvão Willian
No formal bid placed yet with Palmeiras hoping for a package close to €70m
Chelsea have entered into talks with Palmeiras to sign winger Estêvão Willian. There is some optimism within Chelsea a deal can be reached.
A move would see the 17-year-old, who is nicknamed ‘Messinho’, join when he turns 18 ahead of the 2025/26 season, and in time for next summer’s Club World Cup.
However, no formal offer has been placed to date. Chelsea are hoping to pay a fixed fee of €30m plus bonuses, with that initial number being half his €60m formal clause.
It’s understood Palmeiras expect bonuses taking the total package close to €70m, with a guaranteed fee of at least €40m.
Bayern are also expected to place an offer. And those close to the player insist Estêvão will end up in the Premier League or Bundesliga.
Barcelona like Estêvão, who views a move there as a dream, but a transfer is not seen as feasible by those familiar with talks. Real Madrid is also currently off the table.
